Me, myself and my fashion addiction.

"I hate designers who tell people that they're artists. Chanel never said she was an artist"
-Karl Lagerfeld, Vogue.

It was figures like Lagerfeld who attracted me to fashion. His ability to mix modern style with class showed me how anything is possible as long as you have a needle, string and a lot of dedication...

With that introduction, at least I can say I've tried to sound professional...

The truth is that I can't even sew, I'm far too impatient (I have tried on multiple occasions, but my mother will back me up when I say that the result wasn't great). Yet this lack of patience and general ability behind the machine forced me to explore every other area of fashion from a young age. Therefore, most of my school years were taken up with photo-shoots that I'd do for friends, magazine articles for our school newspaper and a yearly subscription to various magazines...along with pretty much anything else I could do to "be a part" of the industry. During this process I also clogged up most of facebook's "newsfeed" with new photo albums, inspired by the likes of David LaChapelle (below) and Zach Hyman. It's even got to the point where a standard "night in" at mine now consists of a film and then a fashion shoot!

Although much of my time was spent going from museum, to work experience, to shopping, (or browsing because of insufficient funds at times) I also began to focus on styling my friends. Eventually my friends (and parents, aunties, brother...) became my muses and nothing gave, or gives, me more pleasure than being taken around town with them, picking out outfits and giving my opinion on their latest "looks".

For this reason I've decided to start blogging various style ideas for both sexes and all ages, as I don't think I can continue to convey my opinions in a 250 character tweet for much longer. (I think most will agree with me here as I tend to have too much to say!)  I'll also write a bit about what is going on in all areas of the arts...who's inspiring me and influencing my style-and potentially what could be inspiring you!

Fact: "style" isn't a tie, shirt and chino combination...it's a way of life.

Enjoy!
